India-Scotland Dialogue

India-Scotland Dialogue, was held yesterday in the magnificent Playfair Library at the University of Edinburgh. The event was jointly organised by the Consulate General of India, Edinburgh, the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish Council on Global Affairs.
The evening featured opening remarks by Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh Prof Sir Peter Mathieson and Scottish Minister for Europe, External Affairs & Energy Mr. Stephen Gethins and a compelling keynote address by acclaimed author and historian William Dalrymple, and an engaging panel discussion moderated by Mr. John Edward with, Ms. Aline Dobbie, Prof Roger Jeffery and Prof Adam Dixon .

The discussions celebrated the deep historical, academic, cultural, economic and people-to-people connections between India and Scotland, while exploring opportunities for an even stronger partnership. Indian classical dance by Ahalya Dance Academy and the Fettes College Pipe Band brought the evening to a vibrant cultural close.
