Happy International Day of Yoga!

The Consulate General of India, Edinburgh celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 in Glasgow in collaboration with Mother Earth Hindu Temple Glasgow.

Yoga, a timeless gift from India to the world, nurtures physical health, mental well-being, and inner harmony. This year’s theme, #YogaForHealthyAgeing, highlights the role of yoga in promoting healthier, more active, and fulfilling lives at every age.

Special thanks to dignitaries Mr. Blair McDougall MP, East Renfrewshire, Ms. Kirsten Oswald MSP, and Provost Mary Montague for their presence and support.

The event featured the Common Yoga Protocol led by Ms. Madhu Gupta & Ms. Manjulika, Kids Yoga by Ms. Ketaki Mulye, Happy Soul Interactive Hub by Ms. Mark Cairns, Laughter Yoga by Ms. Sharon Miller, Isha Yoga, Meditation sessions by Brahma Kumaris, Art of Living, Dr. Sujata Sriram, and Kirtan by ISKCON. An Ayurveda stall was also arranged, offering participants insights into traditional Indian wellness practices.
