Consul General Hosts Scottish Government Representatives Ahead of First Minister John Swinney’s Visit to India, Strengthening India–Scotland Ties
October 15, 2026
Ahead of the visit of Scotland’s First Minister, Rt Hon John Swinney MSP, to India from 20–27 October, Consul General yesterday hosted representatives of the Scottish Government and the accompanying business delegation. The visit to New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai will seek to deepen India-Scotland cooperation across trade and investment, education, culture and cinema, tourism, renewable energy, space and sports; including opportunities linked to the Commonwealth Games. The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) provides fresh momentum to the partnership, opening new opportunities for Indian and Scottish businesses, universities and institutions to build enduring collaborations. https://https://www.gov.scot/news/first-minister-to-visit-india/ister-to-visit-india/ File photograph: Consul General Mr. Siddharth Malik with First Minister Mr. John Swinney.
