The 77th Republic Day Reception was hosted by the Consulate General of India, Edinburgh at the City Chambers. We were honoured by the gracious presence of Robert Aldridge,Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Alison Johnstone MSP, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament and Ben Macpherson MSP Scotland’s Minister for Higher and Further Education for Edinburgh Northern and Leith as Chief Guests.

The reception was attended by Members of Scottish Parliament, government officials, business people and members of the Indian community. The evening celebrated the growing India-UK-Scotland partnership, and marked 150 years of “Vande Mataram” through a soulful flute rendition. The event also featured an Indian classical dance presentation set to Scottish beats, symbolising the harmony of our shared heritage.
We thank all our distinguished guests, friends of India and diaspora members for being a part of the celebrations marking the 77th Republic Day of India.
