Consulate General of India celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Consulate General of India celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, on 19 November 2019 at the Consulate with great fervor. Consul General of India Mr Hitesh Rajpal conveyed greetings to all and he spoke about the relevance of the Guru’s messages and recent steps taken by the Government of India to commemorate 550th birth anniversary in a befitting manner. Special Thanks to Provost of South Ayrshire Mrs Helen Moonie, Guru Nanak Gurudwara, Edinburgh, Mr Wege Singh, Dr Multani, Gyani Ji. The celebration included speeches by Consul General, Provost, Dr Multani, Mr Wege Singh, Gyani Ji; followed by PM Shri Narendra Modi’s audio message of Mann ki Baat on Prakash Parv to commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary; a short digital video “Sarbat Da Bhala (Good of Humanity)” made by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji; a short video on Golden temple; quiz competition; and release of commemorative postage stamps. The event was unique, unprecedented and was well received and applauded by about 100 guests, who attended the event.
